Thank you for showing how to cover the electronics area with a plastic bag! No other videos suggest this. Unfortunately, I may have damaged the electronics with some water spray so I hope my experience helps others.
The outside coils are just as important of the inside. When I buy a new unit, I cover the outside vents with cut-out sheets of ground cover and tape them to the frame. Keeps bugs and dirt out all year long.
THANK YOU. This was the only video that showed how to remove the front cover by squeezing the bottom sides.
Totally impressive
This is a thorough video that helped me a lot. Thanks!
I guess my only question is why kerosene? I mean I've used it as a degreaser on chainsaws and dirtbike parts but I always thought it would mess with painted surfaces? Just curious is all. It's probably more versatile than I realized
Wow... what a nononcence, no waste of time, well spoken presentation, I know how to clean a/c... but listening to her was a pleasure.
I clean the filters monthly and I just saw brownish and grayish slime on the metal front that's behind the pull out filter. It looks like globs of snot. We've had both of our units for 3 years and prior we had units that lasted 10 years and I've never had this slime present. We had really bad red tide this year and we live under 2 miles from the bay so I'm curious if that has something to do with the slime.
I was about to remove the front panel, but there’s that front plastic lever right by the front left panel that latched into the foam case. How did you get that unlatched??
Great video. Remove vent adjuster with a flat screwdriver by pressing on the tab that attaches to the face cover. Plastic bar will stay connected to foam so you can lay down the face while still connected by the wire
A fin comb is a must for air conditioners
I liked your video. I wash my air conditioner every year still in the window. I mean rain gets on it so a water hose and soap with bleach should be fine. I do unplug it though. But after seeing your video, maybe I should take it apart and clean it differently. Honestly, I don’t have the confidence to put it back correctly.
I deep clean at least every 3 months before using water i use my leaf blower at full speed to remove dirt then i use lysol wipes then water with vinegar the let it set in the sun for couple of hours.
Thanks for showing this. I will pass this on.
I followed this video hoping to fix a noise inside my AC. It didn’t, but once it was open I was able to keep going and replace the bearings on the fan motor. Thank you for the clear and well edited instructions!!
Anybody see how you disconnect the vent open close lever to remove the front grill..?
How long does the unit need to dry before putting it back in?
Nice job very satisfaying
Nice job.
... so I got the front cover off but it won't completely come off because the fresh air vent seems to be in the way and stopping me from pulling cover all the way off, I don't want to break it, in your video your cover seems to come off easy without fresh air vent getting in the way, any thoughts?
